‘Critics’ get a rare look into the Big Brother house

LOS ANGELES — We are not blindfolded, but we might as well be. Jammed into a van, six TV critics dressed in black are heading toward points unknown. Our destination: the “Big Brother” house.
Our accomplices are a group of CBS publicists, excited as we are about getting a peek. Tours are rare, we’ve been told, because of the logistical challenge of taking visitors to a house where the inhabitants are locked away from the world for three months, seeing only their fellow competitors’ faces and hearing only the disembodied voice of “Big Brother.”
After crawling past strip malls, video stores and taco stands, then edging along shockingly steep cliffs, we finally see a landmark: the Los Angeles River, that almost-empty concrete trench. We turn in sharply, stopping at a checkpoint and giving our code word to the guard. (more…)

Craz-ee night in the Big Brother 8 House
Its hard to tell if Eric, Dustin or Jessica won the Head of Household tonight. The celebrations were just as much for each of them. Jessica’s smile didn’t leave her face for most of the night and Dustin and Eric recruited to the work out room to jump up and down as did Dustin and Amber later on. Daniele and Dick took to the round bed room where she sobbed “I wanna go home”. Dick comforted for around a hour before leaving to get something to drink. – Video
Smiles all around with the exception of Dick and Daniele, Zach and Jen seemed to be in between. Many of the house guest got to receive Dicks verbal assault. I can see where he is coming from. Dustin was suppose to be the 4th vote to evict Eric but he changed that. Once again the ‘mysterious’ vote has a popped up making it look like it’s been Dick all along but we all know it wasn’t. Dustin said very soon after the live show “It wasn’t me” Dick, “It wasn’t you what?”, “I wasn’t the vote”. Hmm I wonder who it was then? – Eric and Dustin celebrate – Language (more…)

WOW!!!! This is one summer that is turning out to be quite a milestone. Coming into the Big Brother house, I was hoping for an ‘escape from reality.’ My experience in this house is turning into so much more than I ever could have imagined. I’ve had really high ups and ridiculously low lows.

Walking into this house, knowing that anything could and probably will happen, I had my guard up, I was ready for anything. When seeing my father walk down those steps night one, my first reaction was freeze up and hold everything in, be strong and I’ll get through this. It was so much harder for me than I could have ever imagined. If you only knew how embarrassing it is for me to cry in front of people, let alone 13 strangers and um.. yes lets not forget all of America. I pretty much wanted to crawl under a rock and die. That was my first moment realizing in this house there is no escape, you cannot get away from people, from cameras, from mics, from ANYTHING!! It’s your most vulnerable moment. I’m learning to cope with it now. Honestly I can say it’s getting easier and with time this is better our relationship because we can actually sit in the same room as one another. (more…)
